Since the 1990's Vera has created fire sculptures for festivals and events using, as far as possible, scrap metal and  re-cycled materials.  Some of these works have built to a large scale ( i.e The montrous animated figure which was part of the "Blast Off" show at approx seven metres high ) but many have been created for more intimate environments, standing on average at two - three metres high. On several occaisions she has diversified creating three-dimensional images using whythies, paper and wax.

Fire sculptures have also evolved from workshop situations, working with youth clubs and groups, and towards community events. More recently, Vera has created fire sculptures for private events, familly memorials and special occaisions. They can be created to bespoke designs and ideas ( including lettering and logos.)
